Butch, the disk brake is on the other side...what you are seeing are the "spokes'...it is an almost solid alloy wheel.

First I would like to say thanks to all for another fantastic rally! As always it was great to see everyone and enjoy everyone's company! It was great to see more 'newbies' even though I think we are still newbies as well! The food, as always was great and good times were had by all. Special thanks to Rally Queen Judy for all her hard work!
Our unexpected extended stay looks to be over very soon. Ford Roadside called me a little after 7am this morning and called back about 8am with everything arranged. We got a tow truck about an hour later and I was at the dealer by 10:30am. By about 12:30 they told me they confirmed the leak is in the radiator and they need to replace it. They have all the parts in stock because it is such a common repair...yikes! They had already started to work on it and said it is about a 3 hour job. That should get me out of here 3ish and hopefully on the road back home by 5pm...so we will get home today! Yay! Oh ya, and everything is covered under warranty.
Thanks to Ray for crawling under the Beast and taking a look for me, and Butch for the use of his truck to get extra supplies for our stay. And everyone who offered 'good luck' as well!
I will let you all know how it all ends...hopefully boring from here! LOL

My mother in law saw him as they wheeled him from recovery to his room and she said he looked good. He is very tired, however, and the won't allow visitors for another 3+ hours. The doc said they sent the sample to the lab for biopsy but he cut a small sample for himself to look at under the microscope and saw nothing obviously wrong.
So, things are definitely looking up...now just for the waiting to see what the problem is!

Ok, he is out of surgery and in recovery. The doctor didn't 'see' any cancer, but they are running tests now to be sure.

So, I just found out the OR was 'backed up' and he is just going in now. I also learned that the heart surgery he is having is the 'least invasive' possible, meaning not fully open like I first mentioned. They will be taking a sample of the 'sack' that surrounds the heart for biopsy and adding some sort of 'window' so they can monitor the fluid easier. (Sorry I don't have all the medically correct terms, but I am getting most of the information 2nd/3rd hand.)

Hi Folks...I need to put out a good thoughts/prayers request.
Sherry's little brother went into the hospital yesterday to have some fluid removed from around his heart. They removed much more than they thought they would (1 litre) and then tried again a couple hours later removing another (700ml - think bottle of wine size). At that point they put in a catheter and today he goes in for a full blown open heart surgery so they can try and figure out why this is happening and hopefully get it to stop.
The toughest part in all this is they don't know why yet and the possibilities range from the very simple/treatable (ie a viral infection treatable with antibiotics) through the worst case possible scenario (the big C).
He is only 33 and has a wife and 2 young children at home (6 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy). Sherry spent the day at the hospital yesterday to help look after the little guy and offer support and I dropped her off this morning on my way to work.
Any, not trying to bring everyone down, but wanted to let you know and get some of those good vibes and prayers going!

You are probably looking at 3 1/2 hours give or take 15min or so from I5 I would guess. (I am basing this on the fact that it takes 45mins from Los Banos to Gilroy and it takes us about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to get to SAL from Gilroy.) The nice thing is that the 152/156 interchanged has been vastly improved so you should not hit much of a delay there.
You might want to stop a Casa de Fruta as that is a nice stop and fairly RV accessible. From there you will have to wait a while before finding anything though.

Hi Guys...been busy lately! The motorcycle class was great! I learned a lot and didn't dump it! (unlike others in the class, including an instructor!) I passed and got my cert in the mail yesterday. Now I just have to make a trip to the DMV, take the written test and I will get my M1 endorsement.
Last Thursday I was invited by a friend of mine to join him for an evening at his social club up in the city. The club is rather exclusive and I enjoyed an evening of drinks, cigars, dinner and a wonderful music show. The inside of the club was absolutely beautiful with incredible artwork and musicians playing around every corner. Some of you may know of the club, but you can read a bit about it here and do some googling on it. I have also been invited to do some 'camping' at their retreat in the redwoods next year. Camping there makes RVing look like roughing it! :E
Sherry spent the weekend with her Mom and step dad, I and stayed home with the kids since Angelica had band practice yesterday. I spent yesterday installing a new dishwasher, but shhhhh...its a secret! lol Right now I have a nice big pot of homemade stew on the stove for Sunday supper! Sherry should be home in a couple hours from now.

Hi Folks,
We got invited to go camping this weekend, but I am taking a motorcycle safety training class instead. I did the in class portion last night...5 hours of classroom instruction followed by a test. I got perfect on the test, so on to the fun stuff this weekend! We do two days of riding, learning how to safely ride a motorcycle and deal with adverse conditions, hazards etc. On Sunday there is another test, but this time a riding test on the bike.
Saturday evening we are going to visit our neighbors who are camping locally and invited us to go. We will join them for dinner and hang out a bit into the evening. But not too late as Sunday is my big day on the motorcycle range.
Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

Wow...I missed a lot!
Congrats to Joel on the job! Butch on the sale (Canadians are a good target since their buck is now about even and they can't get a decent SUV for under $60k). Glad to see the D&C tour is very successful...looks like a lot of fun! (And nice toque Judy!)
The ladies have been delivered safely to their secret location and I am at home with the kids and dogs. Hey Butch...if that peeping redneck can't find them, have him stop by to share some of this Heiny keg I have on tap!
